Engel Wy Tomme

During his holidays in Austria, Walter Grob discovered a black cheese with white mould. The Austrians told the Swiss that the colour came from refining with red wine. While tinkering with the red wine “Engel Wy”, Grob finally discovered the whole truth: ashes give the mild and very creamy Tomme its black colour. In 2018 the Engel Wy Tomme was awarded the Swiss Cheese Award for the best innovation.
