The Swiss Association of Soft and Semi-hard Cheese Producers (SGWH) is delighted to welcome George Hofstetter as a new member.
The SGWH offers George Hofstetter with his cheese diary a warm welcome as a new member since the Annual General Meeting of 22th March 2013.
Further informations about his person and his cheese diary will be published in June 2013.

The Anuga trade fair, which takes place every other year in Cologne, will open its doors from 5th to 9th October 2013.
As in previous years, Anuga will provide the opportunity to visit 10 specialised trade shows under one roof.
The Swiss Cheese Association, SGWH, will present its delicious speciality cheeses at the “Anuga Dairy” trade show, along with the chance to taste some of its products.
The ten participating members and the SGWH team look forward to welcoming you to their stand.
Peter Odermatt, the owner-manager of Bergsenn AG, has been supporting the board of SGWH, the Swiss Association of Soft and Semi-hard Cheese Producers, with his innovative and unconventional ideas since 1989. Thanks to his passion for cheese, his unwavering dedication to the SGWH and his courage and strength of will when it comes to promoting and advancing the SGWH he was elected as President of the Association in 1999. After 13 years of outstanding work and presidency Peter Odermatt was lauded for his achievements as he stepped down from his role at the SGWH Annual General Meeting of 19th April 2012 in Künten. At the same time he expressed complete confidence in his successor, Hansruedi Aggeler, President of the Seiler Käserei AG in Sarnen.
The new President accepted the challenge, declaring his great respect for the achievements of his predecessor and thanking members of the Association for placing their trust in him. He will strive to ensure that the SGWH continues to provide a suitable platform for the dynamic and innovative entrepreneurs of the cheese industry and intends to broaden the overseas reputation of the range of the 200 or more cheeses currently produced by the SGWH
The SGWH wishes the new President Hansruedi Aggeler every success and looks forward to working with him in the years to come.
The 12th Salon du Fromage et des Produits Laitiers took place in Paris. This trade fair opened its doors together with the Salon International de l'Agriculture from 26th to 29th February 2012. A total of 5,417 trade visitors came to see the 153 exhibitors from a total of 8 countries that attended the Salon du Fromage et des Produits Laitiers.
The SGWH took part in the Salon du Fromage et des Produits Laitiers for the first time in order to gain a secure foothold in the French market. Its presence in Hall 5.1 consisted of 3 members and their 28 speciality cheeses. The cheeses were set out ready for tasting and thus introduced to the French market.
This year's BioFach trade fair, which took place in Nürnberg from 15th to 18th February 2012, saw 2,420 exhibitors, of which 70% came from overseas.
Over the four days the fair attracted a total of 40,000 trade visitors from 130 countries.
The SGWH was present in Hall 9 with their new exhibition stand and 20 speciality cheeses from 6 members.
The speciality cheeses of the SGWH were very popular with visitors from around the world. Interested visitors tried the cheeses and listened to the advice offered by the SGWH team.
The Anuga Messe took place in Cologne from 8th to 12th October 2011. This trade fair was attended by 6,596 companies from 100 countries on an exhibition space of around 284 000 m². In total over 155,000 trade visitors visited the 10 trade fairs over the five day period.
The SGWH was present with a new exhibition stand and 34 cheese varieties from 6 members. The stand showed a typical Swiss landscape and soon attracted plenty of attention.
The SGWH was able to forge new business contacts as well as maintaining existing relationships. The speciality cheeses of the SGWH were very popular with visitors from around the world. Interested visitors tried the cheeses and listened to the advice offered by the SGWH team.
Bio Süd Messe 2011
The BioSüd Messe took place on Sunday, 5th October 2011 in Augsburg. With 3,580 trade visitors and 474 exhibitors, BioSud has been highly successful in providing a forum and meeting place for the organic industry. The trade fair was predominantly attended by medium-sized, often family-run businesses. This enabled BioSud to offer an exceptional overview of individual product ranges, which is essential for the high quality retail business.
BioNord Messe 2011
4,100 trade visitors, representing an increase of 10% over the previous year, attended the BioNord Messe in Hannover on 14th and 15th October 2011. With 434 exhibitors in attendance, this event was extended to one and a half days for the first time this year.
Hannover provided a showcase for a vital industry, and will also prove a driving force for the future.
The SGWH was able to build new business contacts at both events and achieved even greater levels of popularity with its speciality cheeses!

The largest food and beverage trade fair in the world takes place in Cologne from 8th to 12th October 2011. It is one of the most important shows for new markets and target audiences as well as all trends and themes.
The SGWH will be presenting their Swiss speciality cheeses in Hall 10.1, Stand C-03 along with an opportunity for tastings.

44,592 visitors, around 100 fewer than last year, came to BioFach, the world's leading trade fair for organic products, and Vivaness. This show took place from 16th to 19th February 2011, again at the Nürnberg exhibition centre. After Germany, Austria, France and Italy, Switzerland was also well represented with 906 exhibitors.
Under the umbrella of Osec in Hall 1 Stand 230 the SGWH had a particularly successful presence this year. 7 of its members presented a total of 23 delicious speciality cheeses, which proved very popular with visitors.
A great deal of information and knowledge was exchanged. New contacts were made and old relationships re-affirmed. With the inviting atmosphere and, above all, the delicious specialities the SGWH was able to impress all its visitors again this year!
The SIAL trade fair was held in Paris Nord Villepinte from 17.10.2010 to 21.10.2010. It was the first time that the SGWH, represented by Bergsenn AG, had taken part in such a major international trade fair. The attractive Swiss stand was located in Hall 5b along with all dairy products, in a prime position very near the entrance.
There was enormous interest in the Swiss Alpine cheeses. Visitors tried the products and listened with interest to the information provided by the SGWH team. The stand attracted visitors from all over the world, who loved what they found. The feedback was extremely positive and the wonderful speciality cheeses from Graubünden proved very popular.
Compared to InterMopro, the presence at the SIAL trade fair was small, but it met with tremendous approval. The prime location of the stand at the entrance to the hall meant that a great many people came past our display.
Producers who wish to enter the international market need to have a presence at this kind of event! The SGWH, represented by Bergsenn AG, has taken the first step in this direction and achieved considerable success as a result.
InterMopro, which was held in Düsseldorf from 12.09. to 15.09.2010, together with InterCool and InterMeat, attracted around 33,000 trade professionals this year. A total of 760 companies from 28 countries exhibited their new products and innovations.
The SGWH was present at InterMopro with around 50 speciality cheeses from 10 different members. Its stand showed a typical Swiss landscape with mountains and cows, creating a "homely" and appealing atmosphere in which the visitors, according to the feedback received, felt very comfortable.
